DIPILLO, Anthony Scott
Scott DiPillo, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at Manchester Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 29 after a long illness. He was 51 years old, the son of Gayle DiPillo-Shapiro and the late Edward Francis DiPillo. Scott leaves his family, mother Gayle of West Hartford, sister Terese DiPillo Large and husband Dr. Edward Large of Boca Raton, FL, brother Edward F. DiPillo Jr and his wife Jane of West Hartford, sister Elizabeth DiPillo of Boca Raton, FL and sister Abagayle Shapiro of Plainville, niece Madeline Large and nephew Elijah Shapiro-Rios. Despite the challenges from his illness, Scott kept his sense of humor, love of music, sports and family. He was a talented athlete as a young man, played football, was a champion wrestler, competed and won many awardsin track and field events. An avid Red Sox fan, Scott enjoyed going to Fenway with his brother Eddie. He was very family oriented, had an affinity for animals, enjoyed cooking, listening to rock music, and anything having to do with the freedom of being outside in the fresh air and sunshine. Scott was a free spirit, deeply loved by his family and friends and will be sorely missed. We look for comfort in the belief of love's everlasting connection. May that love lift you, hold you close and give you peace. He is an angel now.

Scottie is still in my heart. Like I said ten years ago, he will be forever. I now know what it is like to lose a brother as our brother Michael, was laid to rest up in Fairview. Scottie, Michael, Hal, Timmy, Kevin, Scott R, each of their losses for me is similar as I experience just how close our Sylvan Ave family was. My heart goes out to your family, as this season comes upon us. May God bless you and provide His peace and comfort to carry you through it.

I shared this on Malloy's site... I went to share my condolences with you tonight and instead, your family were the ones that made ME feel better. It was so nice to see you all and share the memories of Scott. I feel blessed that my first friendship was Scottie. I think we planned to run away when we found out you had to move from Sylvan, but at 5 or 6 years old how far would we get? As short as our time was, my "little buddy" will be in my heart forever. Thank you for the warm, friendly welcome, in your time of sorrow. As the prayer card says, he will live in the hearts of us all. God bless!

I will miss Scott even though we had gone our different ways many years ago. There is no way to replace a friend from your youth and hometown. He always made me laugh and we had lots of good times together.

Gayle,, I'm so very sorry to learn of Scott's passing. It is not natural for a parent to loose a child, especially one so vibrant as Scott. Take comfort, quietly, remember all the wonderful times, dreams and places you shared. Now, talking with your heart he will hear you, and may appear in a sunrise, sunset,or a glorious rainbow. He will never leave you. You held his hand as a child, you hold his heart forever. Dorothy
