SMITH, Beatrice A.
Beatrice A. Smith 94, of Manchester, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at home on Saturday (November 5, 2011) surrounded by her family. She was born on February 1, 1917 in Manchester daughter of the late George Truman and Jessie (Prentice) Rankin. Beatrice attended local schools and had been a lifelong resident. Prior to her retirement in 2007, she was employed at Manchester Memorial Hospital for over 35 years in the Environmental Services Department. Beatrice enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family. She is survived by her son and two daughters, Donald Smith, Diane Burkamp and Sharon Smith all of Manchester; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and her sister, Janet Flaherty of Cape Cod, MA.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Nov. 9th from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005. My grandmother was a wonderful person with a huge heart. It was a honor to know her love her and be apart of her life. I will always hold her close to my heart and so will my son.
