Don Oliver Obituary

Don Harper Oliver
Aug. 3, 1942 to Jan. 21, 2012

Don Harper Oliver, 69, was born and raised in Bothell, WA and graduated from Bothell High School in 1961.
Following high school Don was enlisted in the Army Reserves and began work for the Boeing Company. Don enjoyed a long career at Boeing until he retired after 44 years in 2005.
Shortly after high school Don met his wife, Nancy (Kalanqiun) Oliver and they were married in 1964.
Don is survived by Nancy, his wife of 47 years; two grown sons, Troy Oliver of Tumwater, WA and Rob (Shawn) Oliver of Ridgefield, WA; and four grandchildren, Bryce, Ben, Karli and Kaia Oliver.
Don was devoted husband, father and grandfather. Don was an avid sports fan and played both basketball and tennis in high school. He passed on his love of sports to his children. He spent countless hours coaching his children and numerous other youth in the community.
Don and Nancy shared their love of camping and boating with numerous friends and family throughout the years. Whether it was fishing on the lakes or rivers throughout the region, golfing with the guys or crabbing in the Puget Sound, Don was always surrounded by family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
The family would like to give our deepest appreciation and thanks to the family at Harmony Adult Care for taking such wonderful care of Don, and the love they gave to him while he was there.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Don at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Volunteers of America (Formerly Martha Lake Community Center) 16300 Motor Place, Lynnwood, WA 98037.

Don's influence on his sons, and the boys he coached in basketball, played an important part in helping those boys grow up to become strong men of good character. And they in turn will pass that on to the next generation, and so forth, a most honorable legacy.

The battle was long and hard; your family was there every step. We will miss you dearly and know that you are at peace. The countless memories of camping, boating, golfing, etc will never be forgotten. Thank you for all that you brought to the "camping group". Hard to believe but know that you are at peace. Love to Nancy, Troy, Rob and the rest of the Oliver family. Love you all!! We will never forget that deep laugh you had...
