OMG I am so so sorry..Rocky was a great friend for several years..I worked for him at Suncoast Postension for 3 or 4 years..I have been searching for him for over 5 years..He was such a inspiration to me--a great man of God..I also really enjoyed attending his gigs..I always said he sounded like Steve from the group Alabama..

As the i year nears of my best friend and fellow musician Rockys death,,Im reminded that life is a precious thing,I will never forget the last words he said to me three days before,,,play music with your heart and soul,,,well buddy im still playing with all my heart and soul,,,just wish i had my buddy back on the stage with me.

I am so sorry for the loss you all have suffered, Carol, I will keep your family in my prayers. I just learned of this tragedy today, or else I would have been at the services to pay my respects. Rocky was a very special cousin to me, and I will carry him close in my heart forever. He didn't care for the song much, but he never refused to let me hear "Long Tall Texan". Aunt Betty, Dale, Carol and Family we were so sorry to learn today of Rockey's passing. The last time we saw him we agreed that we needed to get together soon. I always have and always will think of Rockey when I hear "Heard It In A Love Song" - I loved to hear him sing it. We are so sorry that we were not aware of the services - we would have been there to pay our respects. Your family will be in our prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. I didn't know Rocky very well, but I've known him a long time (35 years+). I was always impressed by his talent and good humor. We talked maybe 4 or 5 times total. One visit was at Tin Hall one afternoon while he was setting up and rehearsing for a gig. The last time we talked was in 1979 I believe. I think about Rocky and Dale fom time to time, always thinking I would be able to see them play again some day. And I will.

Rocky Phillips was a great friend a great musician and a fun loving happy man! Excelent football player and a straight shooter who never backed down from anyone or anything. An old school Man of his word. Heaven just received a blessing and this earth just suffered a loss. RIP BIG GUY.

To the family and friends of Mr. Phillips. One of the greatest causes of grief is the loss of a loved one in death, especially a beloved marriage mate. In times like these you need the comfort that soothes your heart, mind, emotions, and both your physical and spiritual health. Only God can give you the comfort beyond what is normal so you can cope with your great loss.

Mr and Mrs. Bolian,Dale and Sue, Carol and family, I'm extremely saddened to hear about Rock. Growing up with Rocky, playing football with him,playing in the band with him...makes me smile as I write this. Rocky was easily one of my favorite people ever. He had a quality that was very unique and genuine.
I posted a question just last Thursday the 15th on the Crooked Creek Facebook page asking where Rocky was today. I don't like or understand the answer, but I know he is at peace now.

I was so sorry to hear about Rocky!I went to Ike with Rocky,he was two years older,and just the nicest person you ever wanted to know.
It was always so fun when Southern Comfort played at Tin Hall!Once he even let me sing with the band and it is a memory I will always cherish.
