Eunice Ramey Obituary

Eunice Marie Ramey, 84 of Nampa, was called home by her Heavenly Father on February 18, 2012. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Eunice was born in Ashland, Kansas, on Dec. 13, 1927, youngest of eleven children of Walter and Julia Sanders. She moved with her family to Boise in 1936, to escape the dust bowl during the depression.
As a young woman, she worked at all downtown Boise movie theaters as a ticket teller. She was passionate about roller skating and dancing. She spent almost every day at the roller rink and was an accomplished skater. She married Joe Bass in 1945 and had one daughter. She later married George Oliver in 1953 and had 2 daughters and one son from their union. She was married to Graydon Ramey, from 1971-1986. She reared her children as a single mother for most of her life and worked very hard to provide for them. She worked as a grocery checker in Boise for many years, at Safeway and Food King. Later, she went back to school and got her Realtor Brokers license. She then worked for Baldwin Realty, and went on to create her own company, Ramey Realty, in the 1980's. She was a vibrant woman who will be remembered for her sense of humor, much laughter, love, and her share of cussing! She was a 'Warrior Spirit' who survived her many challenges, and complained very little of her struggles, yet kept her independent stance till the end, as she passed with a Most Beautiful Dignity.
She is survived by daughters Judith Oliver Tomko of Caldwell, and Carolyn Oliver (Lance) Eardley of Nampa, son Doug Oliver of Boise and daughter Rebekah Oliver Rothstein of many places. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grand children, three great-great grand children, and many extended family members.
The family would like to extend deep gratitude to The Cottages of Nampa and XL Hospice for their loving, compassionate care during the past year.
A visitation will be held from 4 pm to 6 pm, Friday, Feb. 24th at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 5525 N. Glenwood St., Garden City. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday Feb 25st at Bowman's followed by burial at Cloverdale Memorial Park, Boise. Condolences for the family and shared memories of Eunice may be left online www.bowmanfuneral .com.
