William DeWitt Obituary



DEWITT, WILLIAM JOHN - Of Jackson, formerly of Melvindale and Mecosta, MI passed away December 5, 2010, age 90 years. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Arno; one daughter, Karen (Lary) Brandner of Jackson; one son, Harvey (Barbara) DeWitt of Livonia; five grandchildren, Rena Brandner, Erin (Dan) Dubois, Shaun Brandner, Jared (Jessica) DeWitt and Jamie (John) Fidler; four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Rylie, Brandon and Emmeline. Preceded in death by one grandson, Karl Brandner. He was a veteran of the Royal Canadien Army during World War II, retired from Burroughs after 34 years of service, was active in various Methodist Churches, enjoyed woodworking and square dancing. According to his wishes, Mr. DeWitt has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church Saturday December 11, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Ed Ross officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Music Dept., 275 W. Michigan Ave., Jackson, MI 49201, or the charity of choice.

The family will receive friends at the church Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. www.Mlive.com/obits
