Doris Stanfield Obituary


STANFIELD, DORIS E.- Of Chelsea, formerly of Stockbridge, MI, age 95, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Silver Maples in Chelsea, MI. She was born on July 5, 1916 in Waterloo Township the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Runciman) Walz. Doris graduated from Chelsea High School in 1933 and was a member of the Stockbridge United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, and was also a life member of the Eastern Star Rebecca Lodge of Stockbridge. On November 23, 1935 she married Kenneth "Bill" Stanfield in Waterloo and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Barbara (Wayne) Malcho of Dansville, Beverly Basore of Stockbridge, and Delores Buege of Ann Arbor; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two son in-laws, Bob Basore and Lynn Buege, and her brother Lyle Walz. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge with Rev. Robert Freysinger and Kathy Schell co-officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge, MI. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Arbor Hospice or the charity of one's choice. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. www.mlive.com/obits

Sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother. My Mother, Erma Dettling Bertke Frerichs, graduated with her and I enjoyed the Class Reunions that I attended with her, enjoyed both your Mother and Father.
