Barbara J. Emerson

Barbara J. Emerson SALEM, ORE.- Barbara J. (nee: Gement) Emerson, 67, left her family and friends on Friday, May 28, 2010, due to complications during surgery. Barb was the only daughter and eldest of four siblings born to Henry and Roma Gement of Racine. At age 18, she married Dale B. Hansen and moved to Aumsville, Ore., where they raised three daughters. They were later divorced. She then married Harold L. Emerson in 1992. They spent many happy years living in Salem, Ore. watching their families grow and traveling the country. She retired from Oregon State Department of Revenue in 2008. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Harold; daughters, Victoria (Scott) Landolt of Salem, Ore., Cheryl (John) Larimore of Keizer, Ore., and Diane (Robert) Miller of Idaho Falls, Idaho; step-children, Doug (Virginia) Crum of Springfield, Mo., Dalinda Primasing of Albany, Ore., and Kerrie Smith of Phoenix, Ariz.; her mother, Roma Gement of Racine; brothers, Richard (Donna) Gement of Houston, Texas, Ted (Becky) Gement of Racine, and David (Jodi Frazier) Gement of Paddock Lake; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry B. Gement. A Memorial service was held on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at City View Funeral Home in Salem, Ore.
