Joseph Splingaerd Obituary
May 21, 1919 - April 21, 2011
Born in China, Joseph lived Hong, Kong, Japan, Mexico and Canada, before settling in Los Angeles in 1982.
A retired accountant (CPA at Peat Marwick, Mitchell, Japan, and VP/Treasurer at Encyclopedia Britannica, Mexico), Joseph is remembered best for his great tenor voice.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Mary Anderson. He is survived by his children, Peter (Alice), and Anne (Michael) Megowan, grandchildren Andrew (Alice) Megowan, Cynthia (Shawn) Olds, Christine Megowan, and Tara Splingaerd of Boston, and 2 great granddaughters.

I would like to thank friends and family who posted or sent condolences, and those who attended Dad's funeral. I know he would have been pleased to have been able to sing at his own service via his CD.
Today, May 21, would have been Dad's 92nd birthday.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I was just thinking about your Dad a week or so ago. It must have been the day he passed. Such a sweet man. He is in a much better place.

Funeral services for "Grandpa Joe" Splingaerd will take place on Tuesday, May 3rd, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
