Erlene Sula Bishop January 3, 1921 - September 5, 2010 SALEM, AL — Erlene Sula Bishop, 89, of Salem, AL died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Bishop was born January 3, 1921 in Henry County, AL, daughter of the late Bryant Roland and Lula McCoy Money. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry K. Bishop. She resided most of her life in Columbus, GA, and Box Springs, GA. Mrs. Bishop moved to Salem, AL in 2002. She worked as a Crossing Guard for Eastway Elementary School in Columbus in the late 1960's and later worked along side her husband in their Southestern Seed and Hardware store in Downtown Columbus. But the job and gift God gave her as our mother, she gave back to her children as the most precious gift of all Ð her unconditional love. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Easter of Salem, AL; her three sons, Kim Bishop of Box Springs, GA, Andy Bishop, and Scott Bishop, both of Salem, AL; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and seven great great granchilden.
