Mary Barone Obituary
Mary Barone (nee Hayes) of Yonkers died on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at age 82. Born on September 16, 1928 to Michael and Mary (Nielson) Hayes in New York City where she was raised and educated. She attended Blessed Sacrament and Cathedral High School and also studied at Hunter College. Mrs. Barone worked as a secretary for Manhattan College. On June 25, 1949 she married Eugene V. Barone, he died in 1986.
Mrs. Barone is survived by her three children, Raymond Barone of Yonkers, James (Susan) Barone of LaGrangeville and Patricia (Steven) Del Bene of Medford, New York. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Danielle, Kristen, Jennifer Del Bene, Kayla Barone and Lyndsay Jarufe. She was predeceased by her sister, Agnes Liggio and by her son, Eugene Barone.
Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be in Most Holy Trinity Church on Thursday, August 25th at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Whalen & Ball Funeral Home 168 Park Avenue

I will always remember our Moms at various dates with our first borns. Your Mom was a kind and loving woman and I always enjoyed talking to her. I'm sorry for her passing and I pray you always think of those special memories close to your heart. She will always be with you Patti.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow "Jasper Maker" and the family at this time. Staff -- current and past -- are recognized, remembered, and prayed for. We are mindful of the service of these good men and women that comprise the Jasper "forge" that making us what we are. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
