Dorothy Edith Morris - Arbitrator and Real Estate Executive
Dorothy Edith Morris of Briarcliff Manor, an arbitrator, real estate executive, and business owner died Wednesday at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, New York. She was 80 years old. Dorothy loved life and her family. A quiet and modest lady who was always breaking new barriers and never retired.
She was born in College Point, Queens, New York on September 22, 1931 to Frances Aitken and Conrad Kohler. Her family moved to Lindenhurst, New York when she was a child. She married Kenneth Baker Morris of Ossining, New York on September 3rd 1960. The newlyweds built a house in Briarcliff Manor on May 1961. She lived there until her death.
Dorothy went back to college after raising her daughters. She graduated in 1993 with her degree in Business from Manhattan College at the age of 62.
Her professional career began as an Office Manger of Prominent Finance Company. After marrying, she spent several years as an at-home-mother raising her daughters Laura and Sandra. In 1972 she started Morris Real Estate, 500 Fifth Avenue, NY, NY. She was a distinguished speak on Air Rights in NYC. For the last 40 years she has been an Arbitrator for FINRA (Stock Exchange). She server on the NYS Real Estate Board. A Broker for Havilland Century 21. She was a member of Nation Institute of Social Sciences (NISS), The World Affairs Forum, DAR (Daughter of the American Revolution), All Saints Church of Scarbough Manor and Shattumuc Yacht Club. She created the Bridge group at Shattamuc Yacht Club Ossining, NY. She cherished her family and spending time with them. Dorothy was a world traveler and golfer. She valued her friendships with old friends, Bridge, Golf Buddies, and Colleagues.
She leaves behind her 2 Daughters Laura Susan Morris and Sandra Lee Morris of Briarcliff Manor, NY.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
