Joyce Schirado-Velasquez Obituary

Joyce E. Schirado-Velasquez Lansing Age 79, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011. Joyce was born November 18, 1931 in Lansing, the daughter of Cree and Pearl (Scholz) Hulse. She was a long time member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, an Eastern Star member and sang with the Sweet Adelines. Joyce was preceded in death by her first husband, Ervin Schirado and sister, Karen Mullen. Surviving are her husband, Jose; her children, Warren Schirado, Lowell Schirado and Carol (Thomas) McAttee; 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Carl, Chad, Zachary and Anna; sisters, Jeanette Sundland and Thelma (Ron) McManus. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, with Rev. William Haggard of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church officiating. The family will greet friends Saturday beginning at 12 noon at the Funeral Home. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice in memory of Joyce. Friends may sign the online guestbook at www.palmerbush.com.
