Daniel Andrew Clark

WINSLOW -- Daniel Clark, 19, of Winslow passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011. Daniel was born and raised in Winslow and attended the Winslow school system. Daniel was a soft spoken caring young man and touched many lives during his short life. He had an inner drive and determination that was beyond compare. He touched so many lives in many ways.

Daniel's passion in life was playing hockey, skateboarding and snowmobiling. He excelled in all that he did. From the day that he decided to take up the sport of hockey at the urging of his close friends, he began to show the determination and drive that most people strive to achieve in life. Although most kids in hockey start at a very young age, Daniel was a few years behind when he first learned to skate. He set his mind to being the best he could be and spent countless hours learning the sport. Before long, Daniel was one of the top skaters on the teams he played for. It was participating in this sport where he made so many close friends.

He was a member of the Winslow varsity championship team in 2008. He was very proud to be a part of the Winslow hockey program.

Another example of Daniel's drive and determination came at the age of 16 when he began working on his computer after school. He did not want to go out and get a part-time job like most kids. He knew if he worked hard and refused to give up, he could find a way to earn money through his computer. He worked hard for months and months before making his first dollar, marketing products on the Internet. At the age of 17 he became the president of his company, Elite Marketing Inc. He realized success beyond anyone's imagination at such a young age. His parents were so very proud of him.

Daniel met his closest friends, Jon and Derrick Lizzotte, when he was 4 years old. Some of Daniel's happiest times were hanging out and playing street hockey and skateboarding in the neighborhood where they all grew up with the many other close friends.

Daniel was also the proud older brother of Tommy Tibbetts. Tommy brought out a special side of Daniel that exemplified the caring and thoughtful qualities that made him so very special to everyone who knew him. He loved Tommy so very much. Daniel's stepbrothers and sister idolized him.

Daniel is survived by his loving mother, Laurie Denis, and his father, Andrew Clark. He was the light of their lives. He is also survived by Laurie's husband, Todd Denis, and their children Nick, Dalton, Logan, Joscelyn Denis, and Tommy Tibbetts, all of Winslow. He will also be sadly missed by Andrew's partner, Kim Cameron, and her children, Seth, Austin and Sydney; his very special grandparents, Gerry and Janice Corbin, of Winslow, and Beverley Clark, of Waterville; great-grandmother Germaine Corbin; his uncles, Kevin and Kenny Corbin, and Phil Clark; and his aunt, Carmen Christianson. Daniel was blessed to have many other extended family members through his life who touched him, and they will all miss him very much.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 today, Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Veilleux Funeral Home in Waterville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Faith Evangelical Church on Kennedy Memorial Drive. Losing such a beautiful young man as Daniel is so very hard for his family and friends. Hug your children and cherish every moment.
