George Waid Obituary

George Wayne Waid
Sept 9, 1936 - May 26, 2012
Resident of Modesto
George Waid, 75, formerly of Santa Clara County, passed away in Modesto.
He drove trucks for 23 years for Savemart. His other loves were family, tinkering, and riding his motorcycle.
He was born in Chickalah, Arkansas, to Earnest "Slim" Waid, deceased, and Allie Mae Sunseri, now of Modesto. George is survived by the love of his life Karen, his wife of 42 years; his daughter Shelly (Ed) Hernandez; three sons Greg (Kim), Daniel (Stephanie) and Kevin (Alli); four brothers Calvin (Jeanette), Bob (Ruby), David (Lonna) and Roy (Cheryl); and 10 grandkids and a great-granddaughter that were his joy.
George never met a stranger. He was highly regarded by family, friends and coworkers most of whom became like family.
A celebration of his life will be held July 29.

Karen and family,

George was an inspiration to all of us. He would light a room as he walked in and I have never heard anyone say a bad thing about him. He was liked by all and it seemed as though everyone knew him. George, you will be missed.
