Bruce Mclain Obituary

Bruce Holding McLain Sr. of Nashville, TN., passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 in Dallas, TX. Born Feb. 23, 1929 in Montgomery, AL. He was a graduate of Sidney Lanier HS and graduated magna cum laude from the Auburn University, where he was a member of the Auburn Knights and Sigma Nu fraternity. Bruce was active in Nashville business and engineering circles where he retired as president and CEO of the company he founded, Air Control Industries. Bruce was outgoing, giving and always involved. As a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, he served as an elder and he actively supported Southeastern AAU swimming associations. He enjoyed traveling and many children from St Mary Villa Daycare will remember Mr. Bruce reading books to them at storytime. Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Carol and is survived by his brother, George Wallace McLain of Cincinnati, OH and sister, Hazel McLain of Montgomery, AL. his children: Diane Howell of Dallas, Debra Garcia and Bruce McLain of Nashville, his grandchildren: Marie Hayes, Michelle Dixon, and Kenneth Howell of Dallas and Lindsey Garcia, Alex Garcia, Max Garcia, and Megan Henley of Nashville, as well as 8 great grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to St Mary Villa Child Development Ctr. at 30 Whitebridge Rd, Nashville, Tn. 37205. Stmaryvilla.org
