Elissa Bouchillon Obituary

June 13, 1936 - April 18, 2012

Elissa "Lisa" Enslen Bouchillon, 75, of Winston-Salem, died at home Wednesday, April 18th. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama to Carolyn Collier Enslen and the late Eugene Rogers Enslen.

Lisa was an alumna of Mary Baldwin College and The University of Alabama. She also studied at the Inchbald School of Design, London, and participated in various study programs in England.

The widow of the late Dr. Cornelius Dean Bouchillon, III, of Laurel, Mississippi, she was

active in museum circles and many community organizations throughout her life in

Alabama, Mississippi, and North Carolina. Lisa was a collector, researcher, and teacher of the decorative arts - owning an antiques business, creating decorator show houses, teaching college series on 18th & 19th C. decorative arts, and curetting various exhibits.

Lisa was also an award-winning flower arranger and was an accredited flower show judge for the Garden Club of America (GCA). While a member of GCA, she participated in and judged flower shows across the country, and served on national committees. She was a past president of Laurel Garden Club, Laurel, MS and past president of Twin City Garden Club, Winston-Salem, NC, both GCA member clubs.

Lisa was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Winston-Salem.

She is survived by her mother of Winston-Salem; son, Thomas "Toby" Lafayette Kilgore,

III and his wife, Shellie Clarke Kilgore of Atlanta, Ga; daughter, Ashley Kilgore Wimmer and her husband, Richard Bennett Wimmer of Winston-Salem; and grandchildren, Lucy Flowers Kilgore, Thomas Stuart Kilgore, Holden Enslen Kilgore, Carolyn Collier Wimmer, and Lawson Rogers Wimmer.

The funeral service will be held at 12:30PM on Wednesday, April 25th at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem with a reception following in the Colhoun Room.

The family would like to thank Rosalyn, Kinya, and Hospice for their comforting care.

I loved Ellissa growing up! She lived next door to me snd I loved her!! She was older than I and I thought she was Miss America!! She was always sooo sweet!!! I love her mom and dad!!! You were blessedkitty Willett/birmingham.al
