MYRTLE SINGLETON Obituary

Singleton, Myrtle, 89, a life-long resident of the Montgomery area, passed away March14, 2013 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, March 18, 2013 at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Rhon Carleton officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Myrtle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Singleton. The last survivor of five siblings, she is survived by a daughter, Karron; son Mike (Phyllis); granddaughter, Heather (Mark) Stephenson and grandsons, Mark, Christopher (Carrie), and David (Sarah) Singleton; and four great grandchildren, Owen and Avery Singleton and Soren and Natalie Stephenson, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially members of Frazer United Methodist Church Friendship Sunday School Class. After a 30-year career with the Federal Government, she was a volunteer for more than 15 years with Montgomery Area Council on Aging. She was an avid gardener and canasta player.
