In 1983 I shared a classroom with Bev. I was just about 9 months pregnant at the time. As I was leaving class one day and she was coming in to teach her class we chatted for a minute. She told me she was watching me teach for a while and could tell I really loved my students. I said for sure I did but I was really worried after I had my own child I wouldn't love my students as much. She hugged me and said, "No. You'll love them even more." What a fabulous inspiration!!! RIP Bev. Thanks.

What an amazing woman, mother, wife, teacher, songstress. She touched so many lives, young and old alike. Please accept our sincerest condolences on her passing, she was an extraordinary woman. She will always be fondly remembered by so many of us. Her "chilli con carne" recipe will forever live on in my home. Rest in peace Beverly. May you find eternal serenity.

Stephen(Leo), Cathy, Jeff, Laurie and grandchildren, Michael, Marcia and Christopher, my deepest sympathy goes out to you all during this difficult time. Bev is in a better place now and can finally rest. I will always remember our lunches and "discussions" at LCCHS for over 25 years. She was a fanatastic mentor and friend. I am a better person because of her.

Miss Purcell as she was known to me, taught me Home-Ec at LCCHS 30 years ago! I sewed my first sweatshirt in that class! It fit for years, and then I kept it a few years longer out of nostalgia. I must have learned just enough about patterns, because I designed my graduation dress and had a dear friend of the family who happened to be a seamstress sew it for me. Then several years later, I'd sewn a dress with a bolero jacket, all the while thinking back on those classes. The best I've done since? I've sewn pillow cases!
Teachers' influences have a way of making appearances in different ways throughout your life without you getting the chance to let him/her know. Writing this little message is my way of saying thank you for touching my life too.
My condolences extend to the family.
