KNOTTS, MRS. MARY C. Widow of Halford C. Muskegon Mrs. Mary C. Knotts, age 92, passed away peacefully Friday evening, October 4, 2013 at her home in Muskegon. She was born in Neosha Falls, KS on February 25, 1921 to Claude and Amelia (Welter) Masten and moved to Muskegon in 1955. Mary had worked for 25 years as a medical technician for Dr. August and Dr. John Wallace and then for Visiting Nurses before her retirement. Mary was a loving and caring woman. She was very passionate about helping others and each year would generously support several charities and organizations. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Halford C. Knotts; her son, Edward Alan "Duke" Knotts and dear friend, Artha Flynn. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Kelly; special friends, Pauline and Dan Meier, Barb and Chuck Devette, Jan Marie and Sandy Sumners; loving caregivers, Julie (Jerry) Minzey, Bridgette and Kathy; and her faithful cat, Sassy. According to Mrs. Knotts' wishes, no services will take place. She will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka, IN. Mary was an unexpected friend. I always felt she was born too early. She was intelligent, opinionated and had a very generous heart. I will miss her earthly presence.

I knew Mary many years ago, we had many talks about her loves and her losses! She was such a good support to me even in her grief. She cared for those around her,she was smart and intuitive! May all those who cared for her and loved her find peace at this time! Kathy

My sister and I cleaned Mary's house for a few years until she became ill. We will miss her deeply! The stories she told us were heart warming, we loved her hair and that white streak in the front :) Rest in peace Mary, Hal has been waiting for you sweet heart.
