David Thalman Obituary
He was the loving husband of 36 years to Lois (nee Ziherl); father of J.D. (Kristen) and Bradley Thalman; grandfather of two week old, Hailey Thalman; and a very good friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Thelma Thalman of Dayton.
David was president of Troy Oaks Homes and Residential Club in Troy. He was an active board member of the Ohio Manufactured Home Association. David was a longtime resident of South Russell and Hunter's Ridge Golf and Country Club in Bonita Springs, Fla.
David was an avid golfer and enjoyed the company of his many golfing friends. His proudest accomplishment on the golf course was his hole-in-one he made July 11, 2006.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home, 95 South Franklin St., Chagrin Falls.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Evergreen Hill Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in David's name to the Geauga County Jobs and Family Services, 12480 Ravenwood Drive, Chardon, OH 44024.

Mr. Thalman was my 7th grade social studies teacher in Granville, Oh in the early '70's. I've never forgotten the kindness he showed me as a "new" kid in the school. He later became my cross country coach. Sorry to hear of his passing. He was an inspiration to me.

David was my newest BEST FRIEND ! I will miss his bubbling personality as he affectionately called me: WILDCAT. Of course he was always calling me ready to go play another round of golf and find out what "project" I was working on. I will truly miss my little Buddy who always said, " My pleasure" when I'd ask him to come pick me up in his golf cart! Leigh and I are so sorry that he will always be known as one of the good guys that died so young!
