REIDSVILLE — Joshua Curtis McQuade, 19, of 245 Penn Lake Dr. died Thursday (July 28, 2011) at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday (July 31, 2011) at Citty Funeral Home Chapel and burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
A native of Boston, Mass. he had lived in Reidsville most of his life. Joshua graduated from Reidsville High School and was the honorary Captain of the football team at Homecoming. He loved to play video games, and classic rock and roll. Joshua loved the singing group "Paramore" and had the opportunity to meet the lead singer, Haley Williams, after he graduated from school. He was a true fighter. Joshua was preceded in death by his brother: Matthew Kyle McQuade and his paternal grandfather: Robert McQuade.
Surviving are his parents: Mark and Carolyn Thoresen McQuade of the home. Paternal grandmother: Majorie Curtis McQuade of Las Vegas, NV. Maternal grandparents: Fred and Carolyn Willard of Reidsville, and John Paul Thoresen of Albany, NY. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will see friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday (July 30, 2011) at Citty Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the residence. Memorials may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association 2306 W. Meadowview Rd. Suite #125 Greensboro, NC 27407.

Josh was always being out the smilling, i did not now josh every well, but when you see him in the hall in school he always keep a smile. no matter how much pain in was in, he was loved by many people. i remember graduation, every student stand up for josh, we loved him and we will never be forgotting,

Carrie, Mark, and family ~ Joshua was such a great kid, as was Matthew. They will be missed, until we meet again let their memory keep us, we are just passing through in this life until we get home. They will never ever be forgotten. We will continue thinking of you and praying that you will find peace.

So sorry to hear about Josh. I think I learned as much from him and Matthew as they learned from me. Both had a great sense of humor and made me laugh often.
For the short time they had, they impacted many lives. I am so blessed to have known both of them as well as you.
