I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Ms. Jackie. This really comes as a shock. I can't imagine a New Orleans Dance Academy with her. Ms. Jackie had a hugh impact on both of my daughters during their formative years and beyond. There will be a hugh void in the artistic community of New Orleans. At the same time, her light will forever shine through the hundreds of young people she touched. To God Be the Glory!!

I miss Jackie. I am at the studio almost everyday and knowing that I will never see her again, makes me sad. She has been so kind to me throughout these past 14 years. She would have given me the slippers off her feet if she knew that I needed them. She also gave me many opportunities that have affected my life in great ways. Thank you Jackie.

To Bruce and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Jackie was such a wonderful, generous person. I have so many memories of both "living" at the New Orleans Dance Academy where we rehearsed and took class for years. Jackie made it possible for the New Orleans Ballet Ensemble to have a home. She was unfailingly loyal to Wayne Soulant. She wanted to see ballet live in New Orleans! Jackie helped me make my first tutu for guesting. I remember her beautiful tutu that was on the wall in your house. What an artist! She was always ready to do anything to promote dance in the community. I know that she will continue to live in many of our hearts! Sending you my condolences and love,

We barely got to know Jackie, during brief conversations at annual gatherings of cousins. We live at opposite ends of the country. Our cousin, James, organized family reunions to celebrate Aunt Ethel's birthday. Jackie, Pam, and Susan always came together. Jackie had a quiet grace. She was modest, unassuming, and absolutely nice. We wish we had known her better. A fond farewell, Jackie, until we meet again… Larry and Shirley Erickson

My daughter, Colleen, has danced her heart out with Jackie since she was out of diapers. The beautiful balance of fun, creativity and discipline that Jackie was able to offer to all the girls not only made them strong, fine dancers but also, I believe, helped them to become responsible, cooperative, caring young women. We will miss her greatly.

Jackie, it is impossible for me to fully express the loss and pain for an entire community of family, friends, dancers, and more due to your death. But above all, rest assured that your spirit, love, and generosity have changed not just each and everyone of us for the better, but the life circles in which we each individually live have also been unalterably improved. You have always been and will continue to be our guardian angel. All of our love forever.

Dear Jackie, My heart wells with sadnes and joy. Sadness for my loss of a dear friend and joy for the art of dance that Jackie worked tirelessly to promote until her last breath. I only hope that we can begin to fill her shoes to keep her legacy alive. My love to Bruce and family.

Although I never knew Jackie on a personal level, I respected and admired her from afar in regards to her commitment to her students, her gracious presence, the reputation she and her school built and maintained, but most of all, her generosity to others in the dance community, be it dance students, choreographers and other dance companies.

Her legacy will live on, no doubt.

My prayers go out to her family and to all of those lives Jackie touched.
