Professor Moffatt was my favorite faculty member at Rutgers College. I took a few classes with Professor Moffatt in the mid 80's and also knew him through the Key Club as he was our faculty advisor. He was such a sweet person. I never met someone who enjoyed discussing the subject matter he was teaching as much as Dr. Moffatt. I will never forget his excitement when he would discuss his work in India or with Rutgers Undergraduates.

Thanks for capturing all the college memories in your book "coming of age". As a no-longer-young sociology teacher who started college in NJ in the mid 1980s, I can certainly appreciate your work. You are missed.

I will certainly miss Michael. I always found him to be generous with his time in terms of guest lecturing in my classes and a warm and friendly presence on campus. I am very sad to hear this news.

Dear Moffatt Family,
I am writer at Rutgers and a Rutgers alumna, Rutgers College class of '81. Prof. Moffatt's "Coming of Age in New Jersey" covers the time when I was a Rutgers undergrad--I entered Rutgers as a freshman in 1977, the first year covered in the book, and lived in the River Dorms. Whenever I want to remember how it was at Rutgers, I turn to Prof. Moffatt's book. My husband (also an alum, class of '78) and I had the pleasure of meeting Prof. Moffatt after a talk he gave at the East Brunswick Library in 1991. I treasure the book he signed for us. Finally, I got a little chill when I saw his sons are named Alexander and Jacob. My sons (twins) are also named Alexander and Jacob. My best to you all. Your father/husband captured Rutgers as no one else ever has and I am grateful to have his unique and insightful account of a great time at Rutgers. With sincerest sympathy, Cindy Paul
