I HAD THE PLEASURE OF FIRST MEETING BOB IN 1988 DURING A LINNAEAN JANUARY BIRDING TRIP TO STATEN ISLAND. THOUGH HIS ACTING CAREER WAS ESSENTIALLY OVER, HE REGALED ME WITH STORIES FROM THE THEATRE. HE HAD ALSO ENJOYED TALKING ABOUT A RECENT BIRDING JOURNEY TO TANZANIA. I ALWAYS ENJOYED RUNNING INTO HIM IN PROSPECT PARK. I AM SAD TO LEARN OF HIS PASSING.

I didn't know him, but now that I see this photo with Peter, I definitely recognize him. Definitely saw him in the park. Interesting fella and an inspiration to stay active through those later years. Sharon Seitz

I express my profound sympathies over Bob's passing.I sometimes run into Bob when I was birding on offdays or thru my Prospect Park job when I met him in the field. Bob was a terrific friend and iconic presence. On behalf of the Brooklyn Bird Club, we offer our condolences and regret that we will miss him. Rest in peace,Bob.

I was saddened to learn of Bob's passing. We became friends while birding in Brooklyn's Prospect Park when he showed me my first Red-necked Grebe. The thespian in him would often appear at unexpected moments while enjoying the local wildlife. His love of birds, quick wit and wry humor will be missed.
