Donald Hayes Obituary
Born May 8, 1928 in Mannington, West Virginia, Donald was a World War II Veteran who served in the Navy. He grew up in West Virginia and later moved to Canal Fulton, Ohio in 1954. He retired from Rockwell International in 1986. Donald was an avid hunter, camper and country musician.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Sallie Hayes; his wife, Doris (Reese) Hayes; daughter, Donna (Marcum); brother, Paul Hayes; and honorary son, Joe Jerin. Donald is survived by his children, Jay Marcum, Donald Jr. (Sue), Diane (Bill) Berg, Debby, Darlene, David (Linda), Denise (Lou) Balog, Dennis (Dyan), Devin (Kara) and Dina (Dan) Tomaszewski; 23 grandchildren, Chris, Scott, Jason, Aaron Marcum; Stacy (Smith) McGee, Donny and Dustin Hayes, Matt Berg, Kim (Berg) Williard, Dennis Dayton, Heather Hayes, Justin Mills, Brandon Balog, Dennis and LaRhea Hayes, Caitlin, Neve, Aiden and Gavin Hayes, C.J. Burridge, Mackenzie and Logan Tomaszewski; 13 great-grandchildren. Donald is also survived by two brothers, Harold and Richard Hayes.
Funeral service FRIDAY, 7 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry Street (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton), with Rev. Cecil Farmer officiating and where friends may call Friday from 5 p.m. until time of the service. A Graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, January 28th at 2 p.m. at Whetstone Cemetery, Mannington, W. Va.

Dad, You don't realize what a great family we had and have. But, when the two best parents are gone. you realize what a special gift you had. Thank-you for always being there for all of us. To all of you , I'm so sorry to hear about your lose of a great father a role model, & a musician . I can remember the days as a kid coming by the house listening to those sweet sounds of him playing , thinking " man I want to play like that one day" ! OH I'm so sorry to here of your family loss,he was a great man,and your Mom. I can remember years ago when all of you came to our campground at Grafton and all of the fun we all had,Our family would wait every year untill you came down,and Dina remember when you were around 14 or 15 and you me and Jackie went down to valley falls on the rafts,but we did have someone pick us up so we would not have to row back UP the river,,, Love all of you.
