Paul Drexler Obituary

Paul Frederick Drexler, 83, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 7, 2012.

He was unselfishly devoted to his family and his religion. Throughout his life he was a gifted athlete and had a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Paul was the son of Raymond and Agnes (Danaher) Drexler of Akron, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph and brother, Raymond, and is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Elizabeth Jane; son, Daniel (Genevieve); daughters, Paula, Linda (John), Laura (Robert); daughter-in-law, Jeanne; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Robert and William; and sisters, Irene and Rita.

Friends may call at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a memorial service to begin at 3 p.m. Burial to follow at Clinton Cemetery. The family will be together for a mass at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Doylestown at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 and all are welcome. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be sent to the Paul Drexler Memorial Scholarship Fund at Archbishop Hoban High School, One Holy Cross Blvd., Akron, OH 44308. (Swigart-Easterling, 330-854-2356)

The Silver League Board of Directors, and the many players who enjoyed playing with him, are saddened to learn of Paul's death.
In addition to his universal recognition of playing skill with his entry into the Hall of Fame, Paul is known, and respected, for his sportsmanship and friendship.
