We only learned yesterday of the passing of Rick and we want to express our deepest sympathy to his family and friends. His help and guidance with our glass needs for our candle business was exemplary. He was truly a man of integrity that went above and beyond to deliver the kind of service and care that it seems harder to find in our "hurried world". We never met Rick in person yet it seems like we lost not only a wonderful business contact but also a friend.

My sympathy goes out to Rick, Jr. and the rest of the Henkle family. When I was only thirteen years old, Rick and his friend Herb saw something in me and gave me an opportunity to grow athletically and personally as part of the Omaha Cardinals basketball program. Rick's support and enthusiasm played a big part in making me a more developed and confident person/athlete. I was just one of many, and it's hard to imagine how many kids' lives he positively impacted over the years.

Words can't express the loss of a dear friend...I will forever miss those phone calls and lunches that I shared with Rick regularly or whenever there was a reason to get an expert opinion! I could always count on Rick to keep me grounded or to move me from one side of the fence to the other! Rocky & Ricky Jr...as long as I am still around you know you can call me anytime for support or just to talk or share stories! With deepest sorrow and sadness...I will miss you tremendously Rick...The former Voice of CP Sports

After being notified of the tragic news of my friend & coach Rick Henkle, I immediately recall a series of wonderful memories with Coach Henkel including our 1992 Kellom League Tourney Championship, he told me it was on of the true highlights of his life, and when "Morrison doesn't shoot the ball, we win basketball games." Trust me, his words influenced not only myself, but countless past, present, and future Cardinals.
Rick will be greatly missed, it's very a rare in this world, that we come across Rick Henkels everyday.
When we did, we were some of the luckiest people on this earth.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Henkel Family.
You will be missed by many Rick!

Rick Henkle was a great person and wanted the best for all kids in athletics and life. Rick had a major influence on my life as a person and in athletics. He provided many opportunites for kids in basketball that they would have never been given if it weren't for him. Rick's legacy as a coach, friend, and mentor will live on forever. My prayers and sympathy are with the family. God Bless

My deepest sympathy,
Rick had profound effect on my life growing up. Like many of us that played in the cardinal organization, my life would not have been the same without Rick. Just a very generous and giving man that wanted to help everybody succeed. I'm very thankful for his help.
Sincerely

I was deeply saddened today when I learned that Rick Henkle had passed away. Not only were we family friends, but I was on one of the first Cardinal's teams and remember the day Rick hand delivered my own personalized Cardinal jacket. I still have it to this day (Pictured Here). Rick was passionate about providing ALL kids an opportunity to improve themselves on and off the basketball court. He made a difference in hundreds of kids' lives, and the world is a better place for having Rick Henkle in it. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Henkle family...Rest In Peace Rick
