Our sympathies to Ed and his family at this time. Mr. Echols was such a big part of our high school years and we were blessed to know him. Kids today could use another Hillside Drive In to keep them straight and narrow pathed. God bless you Mr. Echols!

C. Thgomas thompson had the ideda to have John as a guest of honor at the FUHS Class of 58's 50th reunion but Scott P4erley informed me the committee did not want to do that . So tommy and I decided he would come as our guest. After the class president Scott Perley finished his remarks I shouted I wanted thye Mike, he asked me if i wanted it on, I said yes and introduced John by askinbg ball who had gone to the hillside to stand up 99% of the class stood up. He told Tommy on the way home he did not realize he had effected so many lives. So the class of 58 had him come to the FUHS all class luncheon and again ask people to stand who had gone to the hillside and almost the whole room stood up only the spouses who were not from Fullerton did not stand. Denny Napier had to run around the hillside in baby diapers for his Pioneer car club initition. John you w3ill never know how many lives you touched, we all will miss you.

C. Thomas Thompson thought it would be great to have John come to the FUHS Class of 1958's 50th Reunion but THE committee did not agree so Tomy ani decided we would pay his way as our guest. After Scott Perley had finished his remarks I yelled for the mike, Scott wanted to know ivf I wanted it on!! Of course I said. and proceeded to introduce John the crowd went wild and almost everon wanted to talk to him. He told Tommy on the way home he did not realize he had effected so many lives. well we also had him come to the FUHS all alumni reunion or pow Wow, Again almost the whole room stood up when asked if they had gone to the Hillside. Denny Napier had to run around the hillside in baby diapers for his initition into the Piuoneers car club. John you will never know how many Indians will miss you and remember to good times spent at the Hillside

I'm Sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a good man. I spent many nights at the Hillside Drive-In in my youth. John was nice enough to name a Hamburger after me called the "VanceBurger", because I liked my Burger a Special way. Francis & Betty were my Favorite Car Hops too. RIP John

Sorry to read about John's passing; but he seemed to have a long life. I will always have good memories of the Hillside Drive after football games,
dances in the gym and other events at FUHS.
