Mary Emily Branham Gipson

Mary Emily Branham Gipson of Hicks Lane, Madison Run, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at her residence.

She was born on July 20, 1926, in Madison Run, the daughter of the late Goldie Berry and Archie Wilbur Branham Sr.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Robert Gipson Sr.; and a brother, Archie W. Branham Jr.

Mrs. Gipson is survived by three daughters, Patricia Gipson Tonnancour of Madison Run, Elizabeth Ann Gipson of Virginia Beach and Vicki Elaine Gipson of Madison Run; three sons, Walter Robert "Terrapin" Gipson Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Madison Run, Thomas Lee Gipson and wife, Denise, of Madison Run, and Gregory Paige Gipson and wife, Scotti, of Palmyra; a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Mundy and husband, Mason, of Virginia Beach; ten grandchildren, Shannon Hudson and husband, Glen, Summer Sonner and husband, Ryan, Chris Hebert and wife, Susan, Cody Tonnoancour, D.J. Gipson, Paige Gipson, John Waring, Lexi Gipson, Emily Gipson and Jordan May; four great-grandchildren, Devin and Jarett Hudson, Chance and Chloe Hebert; and special pet, Shadow.

A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011, at the Orange County Moose Lodge. Pastor John Hodgen and Pastor Rick Clore will officiate.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is in charge of arrangements.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Gipson family. Mary Emily is the great grandmother of my niece and nephew Chance and Chloe Hebert and always treated me and my children as family as well. We will miss her greatly. The world has lost a wonderful woman.

Gipson Family and Extended Family Members,
So sorry for the lost of a wonderful and nice person. I loved going into her little shop here in Orange. She would welcome you with a smile and hello. She will truly be missed by all that knew her. mother(Arlene Hall Jones) and my
grandmother(Edna Branham Hall) would go
to Orange and visit her at the store.
