Bula Grace Smith

Smith, Bula Grace (Weddle) 100 Jan. 14, 1912 May 23, 2012 Stayton - Bula, 100, was born in Stayton and lived there most all her life. She graduated from Stayton HS, and attended Oregon State University before working for Portland Motor Stages. She married Fernando Martin "Farmer" Smith on May 19, 1940. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1997. She and Farmer enjoyed dinner with former presidents Gerald Ford and Richard Nixon. Bula was a voracious reader; liked bridge, golf, travel, gardening, entertaining, cooking, daily crossword puzzle. She is survived by three children, Dean (JoAnn) Smith of Lake Oswego, Paul (Mary) Smith, of Boulder, and Susan (Tom) Kuczmarski of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by brother and four sisters. Visitation Monday, May 28, 3 to 8 p.m., North Santiam Funeral Sevice in Stayton. Mass Tuesday, May 29, 10 a.m., Immaculate Conception Church in Stayton.
