James Gordon Hansen

Hansen, James Gordon 87 Feb. 06, 1925 May 28, 2012 James "Jim" Hansen was born in Astoria, Feb. 6, 1925 and grew up in the Warrenton area. He passed away on May 28, 2012. Jim joined the Army at age 18 and served during World War II. He fought in the D-Day Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge and received a Certificate of Diplome from France in recognition of his service and liberation of France. Jim married Beatrice Foley in 1954 and they moved to the Portland area to raise their family. They enjoyed traveling and were founding members of Good Shepherd Community Church in Boring. He worked as a Foreman for Snyder Roofing for over 30 years. After Bea passed away in 2001, Jim was blessed to meet Heidi Tappert. They married in 2003 and enjoyed eight and a half wonderful years together. Jim is survived by Heidi; son, James Hansen; daughter, Frances Courtnier; granddaughter, Andrea Cox; and brothers, Robert and Richard Hansen. A private memorial service will be held Saturday, June 2 at 12 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrier Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
