Jim over came the difficult life of a former child migrant, sent to Canada from England at age 6. He was truly a self made man, achieving his main goal in life to become a respected successful entrepreneur.

Only good memories but not enough of them. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to know and learn from Jim.
Happy trails.
Our sympathies to Jean and all of those who knew and loved him.

I remember we always anticipated, with great excitement, times together with Lil and Jim when we were kids. Great fun and lots of laughs were involved. Jim always told us kids "you can be anything you want to be in life". Jim was a great friend to my Dad and our family and impacted many people in his lifetime.

James and I came to Canada on September 1937 aboard the CPR vessel 'the Duchess of Atholl". His energy and drive never diminished

I met Jim in the 80's at a WAEL convention. He was a straight talking no nonsense guy who told it like it was. We had lots of laughs together. He attended one of our company's annual sales meetings in San Fransico to speak to our sales team. I lost touch of Jim when he sold his company and was saddened to hear of his passing. He was a good man.

I met Jim when he was first starting to think about selling Allco and I was starting a leasing company. I ended up modeling my company on the model that Jim created. At first we fought over a potential sale of his company but we soon became friends and I really enjoyed the time we spent together. Jim taught me a great deal and I appreciate all the words of wisdom. May he rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Harris. What a wonderful, charming, and kind man. He was generous with his great wisdom. It was always a memorable event to see him.
So sad to hear of his passing. The world has lost a treasure.

I only met Jim a few times, I am a work friend of Jean Nations. I was so sad to hear of his loss. He had a wonderful smile and spirit and made Jean smile a lot. Blessings to all of you.

I worked for Jim at Allco in the late 90's. I learned a lot from him. He always had my respect. I found him most agreeable when he was away from the office or entertaining. He was one of the most intense people I ever had the pleasure of working for. I know he would take that as a compliment but may have chosen a more colorful word than intense. Former Asset Mgr for ALLCO.

Jim was our neighbor and dear, dear friend. We will miss having dinner with Jim and summer nights on his deck sharing a glass of wine. We were thrilled to be married on Jim's yacht in 2005. Long live "Harris Way", the path from Jim's front door to our back deck.
