Janet Murdock Adams

Adams, Janet Murdock 85 May 11, 1926 Oct. 09, 2011 Janet Murdock Adams died Oct. 9, 2011, of natural causes. Born May 11, 1926, in Yakima, Wash., Janet grew up in Yakima and San Jose, Calif. She attended Washington State University. Janet married Bill Adams in Pullman, Wash., in 1946, and they made their home in Eastern Washington. They moved to Portland in 1953. Since that time, Janet has lived in Portland, Gresham and Clackamas. Janet was a homemaker, substitute teacher and community volunteer. She was especially proud to complete her bachelor's degree from Portland State University at age 51. She was an avid walker well into her 80s, and she loved camping and travel. She was an accomplished pianist and zealous reader, and she never lost her intense curiosity about the world around her. Janet is survived by her sons, Keith Adams of Renton, Wash., and Jerry Adams of Portland; daughters, Paula Brumbach of Ravensdale, Wash., and Kim Thomas of Sisters; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 2002. A private memorial will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to ARC of King County.
