Lee, Joseph G. 63 Feb. 29, 1948 Dec. 01, 2011 Joseph Gregory Lee died Dec. 1, 2011, at age 63, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Joe was born to Lafayette and Rosemary Lee in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Feb. 29, 1948. He spent his childhood in Salt Lake, Spokane and Portland. Joe graduated from Jesuit High School in 1966. At University of Portland, he met Elizabeth McDermott. They married in 1969, and Joe graduated in 1970. He received his master's degree in mathematics from University of Colorado. Joe and Beth had five children. Joe worked at LBL Inc., the family window and door manufacturing company, for over 20 years. In 1991, Joe set up his own engineering business, Cycloid Designs. In 1993, Joe met Jeannette Launer, and they married in 1998. He and Jeannette traveled frequently, and Joe had fun offering his kids advice about everything from baseball to "the calculus." Joe marked 25 years of sobriety this July. Joe is survived by his wife, Jeannette, and his children and grandchildren: Rachel Lee, husband David Fikstad, and Benjamin, Caroline, Eleanor and Harriet; Janice Johnson, husband Nick Johnson, and Brennan and Lucy; Andrew Lee; Frances Prekker, husband Matt Prekker, and Erin and Nora; and Margaret Lee. He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog Sherman. A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary. Donations in Joe's name can be made to the Oregon Humane Society, Dr. Bob's Home in Akron, Ohio, or the Alzheimer's Association of Oregon.
