Thomas Kingsley Dunham

Dunham, Thomas Kingsley 84 10/14/1926 02/26/2011 Thomas Dunham passed away with his wife and daughters at his side. He died as a result of complications from pneumonia. A native of Portland, he was the youngest child of Charles and Adina Dunham. After graduation from U.S. Grant High School in 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. His Seabee unit was attached to a Marine battalion for the invasion of Okinawa in April 1945, where he remained until the island was secured and the war ended. After discharge, he enrolled in Oregon State College where he met his future wife, Roberta Clark. They were married in 1948 and celebrated their 62nd anniversary last year. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. His love of people led to a career in sales, which began in the advertising department of the Oregon Journal Newspaper and ended in advertising and sales at Toyota Motors. After retirement in 1990, he served as a volunteer for Albertina Kerr Centers. He was also a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. Tom is survived by his wife, Roberta; daughters, Holly Teich (Cary) and Stacey Morris (Rich); grandsons, Zachary and Nicholas Morris; granddaughter, Amy Teich; sister, Dorothy Cornwell; numerous nieces; and a nephew. His brother, Charles Dunham, preceded him in death. At his request, no funeral was held. A celebration of Tom's life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, in Lakeside Gardens, 16211 S.E. Foster Road, Portland.
