Wendell Olsen Obituary

Olsen, Wendell C. 85 April 30, 1926 Oct. 04, 2011 Wendell, 85, passed away peacefully of com-plications associated with dementia. His family will miss his wit and the creative stories he spun. His neighborhood will miss visiting with him on his three-mile walks and seeing the messages he left on telephone poles. Wendell was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, American Theater, until 1946. He dearly missed his wife of 45 years, Marion, who passed away in 2004. He enjoyed American Legion food events and had a patent for refrigeration-associated equipment design. He always had more projects in the works than time allowed. He retired from Crown-Zellerbach in 1984 and stayed active in his own refrigeration business until 2009. Survived by daughters, Carol Olsen of Vancouver and Christine Eubanks (Glenn) of Canby; and granddaughter, Patricia. Viewing 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, Canby Funeral Home. Memorial 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, Canby Christian Church.

Dear Carol,

I was very sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Losing a parent is not an easy thing to go through. I lost my dad a few years ago and so I understand completely how you must feel.

I'll be praying that the Lord will comfort you and help you through these difficult times.

Love in Christ,

Cherie

Carol,

Although I never met your father, I was always so fond of your mother, Marion, and your grandfather Clyde. I wanted you to know I am very sorry for your loss.
