Mary Isenhart Obituary

Mary Jane Isenhart, 77, of Midland, passed on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at MidMichigan Medical Center. She was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Liberty City, Ind., where she spent her early years before meeting the love of her life, Leland "Ike" Isenhart. They married on June 20, 1953, and moved from Norfolk, Va. to Midland in 1955.

Mary Jane worked as a baker in the cafeteria for Midland Public Schools for 20 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and the Auxiliary American Legion. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, traveling and visits to the casino.

Mary Jane was a loving mother to Deborah (Kelly) Winters of Berkley, Cheryl Hamilton of Atlantic Beach, N.C., Roger Isenhart of Midland, Eric (Kathy) Isenhart of Dearborn Heights, and Glenn Isenhart of Midland; loving grandma to Keane (Eric) Peddy of Mt. Clemens, Jamie (Nick) Collins of Rochester Hills, Adam (Kelly) Hamilton of Midland, Chantel (Evan) Anstine of Havelock, N.C., Zane Isenhart of Midland and Danelle Isenhart of Midland; special great-grandma to Alyssa and Danica Peddy, Molly and Melanie Collins, Nolan and Emma Anstine, and Alexa Hamilton.

Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Phyllis (Max) Krause, Dan (Sue) Slusher, Dick (Wendy) Slusher, Laura Chapin, John (Marcia) Slusher, Nancy Campbell and Tom (Sara Lee) Slusher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leland "Ike" Oct. 13, 2011, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will take place at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler St. Mary Jane's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until time of services. The Todd Schultz family first met Mary Jane about 22 years ago when Todd first put the Midland Explorer's Uniform on at Currie Stadium. Mary Jane was a loyal "Explorer Fan" and an Icon at the ball park! Mary Jane was always welcoming and a very good friend to everyone. We will miss her!
