Please know that just as your loved one remains in your hearts and minds; his sacrifice, and that of your family, remains with the people he died defending. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for his bravery and selflessness, or the heartache we feel for your loss. God bless and keep you always.

I have spent three years as a recruiter trying to find a someone who might replace him. Though I found many who where up to the task No one could ever replace his enthusiasm and dedication to his fellow Marines. I will never forget that Lcpl Bunny Long was one of my Marines.

I will never forget. You had a good heart and sense of humor. It was a pleasure to serve with you as your Platoon Sergeant. I gave you the orders to serve at the place you were killed, and I think about that every day. I am sorry you had to go but we will do our best to ensure that it was not in vain. I love you.

I'm not that much of a talker of these type of things. I heard the news about while i was still serving in Iraq. From all the Asian Community. We never actually talk but i knew you by face. I always hear good things by you. How funny you are and how you help others before your own. I regret not having the chance for not really getting to know you. I know we would of been good friends. Well bro you will always be missed. I hope you are smile down on us and guiding us thru life as life can be harsh at times. We all need a angel like you protecting us. Whenever my time comes. Save a spot up in the heaven gates.

August 1, 2007

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

To the family of LCpl Bunny Long:

We understand what you are experiencing and feeling. No amount of words can ease the pain of your loss. We know firsthand there are no words of comfort at this time. Dear Long Family,

Even though we have never met, I feel as if we are a part of a "family". My daughter's fiancee was killed by an IED in Iraq on Oct. 3, 2005. It is my prayer that you will feel God holding you close to His heart just as He held my family. May you know His peace and comfort during these difficult days.

It has been a few weeks now since I heard the news about Bunny. At first it was like a bad dream I couldn't wake up from. I even felt like that attending the funerals. Now that it has really sunk in, I find myself completely overcome with sadness at times. Other times I smile when I remember something funny or kind that Bunny did or said. Bunny has a kind and generous heart, which he extended to my family on countless occassions.

I know that Bunny went unto this with his eyes open. He can be a very funny guy but he has a serious side as well. Bunny wanted to be a Marine. In his letters from Boot Camp he never complained and usually found something amusing to say about the situation.

Bunny is like that; no matter what life deals him he absorbs it and he doesn't let it twist him up. Bunny is a good man who stays true to himself. Even though I am well over twice his age, I find a lot to admire and emulate in Bunny Long.

It is a great honor for all of us who may call Bunny our "friend", "brother" or "son". He is truely one of the very best.

I dont need to say much everyone knows how i feel. Boonie was a great son, a great brother, and a great friend. I would kill just to talk to him one more time. He loved his famly and he loved his friends too. I had to write something to read on saturday at the temple and this is all I could come up with....and it doesnt even come close to how i feel about HIM.

Boonie was a one of a kind guy. Im sure everyone here who knows him would agree with that. He was very loyal to his family and friends ........there wasnt a thing he wouldnt do for them. Even though I ve only known him for 8 years he always told me I was family to him and his cousin tommy. He used to say that quote "They say blood is thicker than water.......then he would look at me and say "but you are blood to me". The feeling was mutual and he knew it.

Boonie always took the time to talk to people. For some reason he attracted a lot of real strange street people. But he would always take the time to talk to them and find out their story. Everyone meant something to him. I know that no one here will forget him or his funny comments. Sometimes they werent even funny. ....but the smile on his face and the look in his eyes made them hilarious. He made everyone smile and when he smiled it was smile that came straight from the heart. He was always easy to talk to and easy to go to for advice. If you had a problem he would listen to you talk until you were blue in the face and then tell you what he thought about it. And what he said back was always the right thing to do. He is one of the most loyal people I have ever known and there was nothing he wouldnt do for me and nothing i wouldnt do for him.

He only had one month to and all his dreams would come true. He always said that when I got married he wanted to be the best man.....and he will be even if he isnt here physically. None of us will forget him and he will live forever in our hearts and minds. I remember everytime he came back on his 2 week leave he would say "I'll see you when I get back" before he went to the airport. But before he left the last time it was different.....He said "I'll see you when I see you." Rest in peace boonie....and we ll see you when we see you."

Psalm 23

1

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3

He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock! And that we now know our "Guardian Angel" personally!

My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

To Bunny's family and friends-

My family and I are praying for you and your family during this difficult time. We send our deepest empathy as we lost our Marine on 11/30/05 in Fallujah. We are comforted to know that our Marines are serving their country with such honor and bravery. We are so proud of our Marines and all of our other service men and women for all that they have done and continue to do to keep us safe and to give us the freedom we have that so many take for granted.

They are true Heroes and need to always be remembered for their selflessness and sacrifice to better our world. We will forever be united in the loss of our heros. We are so sorry for your loss and hope our words will ease some of the pain, and maybe fill some of your emptiness.

To the Family of Lance Cpl. Bunny Long:

My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. We lost our son 12/1/05.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. They will never be forgotten, never able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your memories will sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
