Lucille Pete Obituary

Lucille Pete NORFOLK - Evangelist Lucille Pete, 81, passed away Sept. 21, 2011. She was born to the late Barzell and Virgil Peoples in Boykins, Va. She married the late Deacon James Pete Sr. in 1947 and they lived most of their lives in Norfolk. Evangelist Pete was an active member of Christ Cathedral COGIC. She was a mental health aide for many years, using her own residence to house and take care of many patients, praying with them as she took care of their mental needs. She did this until God called her home. She is survived by 10 children, one sister, one sister-in-law, and a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A wake will be held today from 7 to 8 p.m. in Faith Temple COGIC, 645 W. 37th St., Norfolk. A funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. in New Bethel COGIC, 4700 Little John Drive, Norfolk. Monroe Funeral Home, 1701 Wilson Road, Norfolk, is in charge of arrangements.
