Joseph Inguagiato Obituary

PEORIA - Joseph Anthony Inguagiato, 84, of 6901 N. Galena Road passed away peacefully at 7:38 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria, with his family at his bedside.

Born Aug. 27, 1927, in New York, N.Y., to Giuseppe and Antonia (Polizzotto) Inguagiato, he married Helen Katharine Loizos on Aug. 31, 1957, in Philadelphia, Pa. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Gina (Darren) Wright of Peoria and Chris (Todd) Blickenstaff of Spring Bay; one son, Joseph (Renata) Inguagiato of Basking Ridge, N.J.; and four grandchildren, C.J. Inguagiato, Johnny Inguagiato, both of New Providence, N.J., Sabrina Wright and Ashley Wright, both of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.

Joseph was a Certified Public Accountant and the former president of the Paper Corporation of America in New York City.

He was a graduate of Manhattan College.

Joseph was a member and past president of the New Jersey CPA Society and a past president of the Lions Club.

He loved to teach and play bridge and poker. He had a passion for sports and especially enjoyed following the New York Giants. He also found joy in his family and grandchildren.

He was of the Catholic faith.

His graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria. Deacon Tom DeBernardis will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
