NORMA SPEER Obituary
Age 90, of Crafton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Leslie W. Speer; loving mother of Richard A., George H. (Diane), Roy W. (Patti) and Martha Speer, Lucy (Jeff) Towne and the late Robert K. (survived by Anne) Speer; also eight grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Arnold and Garnet Fowler. Friends received at the HERSHBERGER - STOVER INC. FUNERAL HOME, 170 Noble Ave., Crafton, on Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2217 Princess Anne St., Suite 106-1F, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

I often walked to school with the Boice girls. I am the same age. turn 90 in Dec. I had seen her since graduation but not for many years. I hope when my time comes I can pass in my sleep. It may not be soon as I had excellent scores yesterday on all my labs in my 3-month diabetic check-up. Is Ruth still living? 90 years is a good long life and we started out in such a good neighboorhood and school.

My father and I had spent many lovely afternoons visiting with Norma and Leslie. We talked about the old times in the Idlewood section of Crafton. I found out she lived, some of her childhood, in the same house I live in now. She was a wonderful lady.

Although I only met her once before her passing Mrs.Speer was a wonderful person. Richard I can see a lot of her in you. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family.
