To the family of Vince Calloway,
I want to express my deepest sympathies on the passing of your father and grandfather, Vince. I worked at Heinz Hall for 18 years and Vince was the heart of Heinz Hall. His kindness and gentleness were beyond words. Everytime we worked Vince gave us an orange and a kiwi and we use to say Vince finds the best fruit. This was just another sign of his selflessness. I will never forget his smile and dignity.

To Mr. Calloway's family:
I first met Vince when I was a student and member of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony. He always had a message of encouragement for a young aspiring musician. Years later, I won a position in the Pittsburgh Symphony. He was so proud. We talked often and I always admired the professional, but friendly way he did his job. Everyone loved him, his smile, and his gentle way.
Very sincerely,

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family of Vince. I know he was a wonderful father and grandfather, because he was such a wonderful friend of mine. He was truly a special man and will be greatly missed. There are not many people in the world as selfless and caring as he was and I am so thankful that he was part of my life. All who were lucky enough to know Vince knew what a kind man he was and how he filled our lives with so much joy. I worked with Vince at Heinz Hall for many years and always looked forward to seeing him at the door. No one will ever be able to replace a man as dedicated and loving as he. It is very difficult to lose someone so special and I will never forget him.
Much love,
Jill & Tim Mohlman

To the family of Vince, Please accept our sincere sympathy. My husband, Tim worked with Vince at Bettis. Vince would help us out with tickets at Heinz Hall--that's where I met him many years ago. He was truly a Gentle man. Vince would always give me candy when we would see a show . He ALWAYS had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. The world has lost a wonderful man--but I think we all have a new angel. With deep sorrow, Jill & Tim Mohlman

Yvette & Janette and Calloway family:
It has been a most difficult year for you all. Stay steadfast in God's Word and He will restore your souls. As I think about your dad, I think of his quiet spirit and love for his family.
How precious the gift God gave you to spend a glorius week together in the Dominican Rebublic laughing, talking, remembering and enjoying each other before he became ill--That's love and the gift you can always treasure.
Know I am praying for you all and will always be there when and however you need me.
Love your dear friend
With heartfelt sympathy

To the Calloway Family,
In times like these, there is never words to say that can comfort one when losing a love one.
But family know that you are in my prayers and know that your love one, was loved by many.
Your Father, grandfather, and all other titles that he carried, was a joy to be around, down at Heinz Hall. He was like a Dad to all of us and one of the most classiest gentlemen I had ever known. He would give me and other ushers fruit, candy, bake pies, or even buy coffee. He didn't know he was blessing me at times, because during those times of giving me those goodies, it was during those times, I hadn't eaten or had money to buy lunch/dinner. And I really appreciated his kindness.
He was also funny, I can remember a time when he drove me and Peggy home. We laugh so hard we all had tears in our eyes.
Heinz Hall will never be the same. He will be truly missed by me and the other ushers.
The bible says Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted and that's my prayer for you today.
Thank you family for sharing Mr. Calloway with us.

When I think of Vince I see a striking figure of a man that stood tall at the doors of "The Heinz Hall Theater" always greeting you with a smile. Everyone who was anyone at the a hall knew him well. He was the man behind the "Vincent Calloway Award" an era in time, Craddled in the arms of the God feeling no pain, loved and missed by all. He'll aways be in our hearts.
