Joe, Judy, Kerri and Todd,

There are no words to express how sorry we are over the loss of Greg our hearts are broken. Peewee and Greg have known each other forever; they were Fire Department brothers, close neighbors and great friends. I first met Greg in the early 80's when we worked together at Riccotti's Sandwich in Smithfield. We shared a lot of laughs behind that sandwich counter and for nearly 30 years I have had the privilege of calling Greg my friend. Greg had a quiet way about him but if you knew him he was truly a special person. You couldn't help but love him, he was sweet, smart, funny, thoughtful, respectful, hard working, devoted, honest, genuine, the list goes on and on. Peewee and I will miss our dear friend and neighbor but we know that heaven is a better place with Greg in it. We just wish we could have had him a little longer. Rest in Peace.

With love, friendship, & sympathy,
Sandy & Tom DeAngelis & Family

Joe,Judy,Kerri,& Todd, I want to express my heartfelt sorrow on the untimely passing of our brother firefighter Greg. Greg joined Geneva fire station in 1981, and became part of a special extended family, much as i did in 1973. We at Geneva were always a "band of brothers". We fought fires together, socialized together, and always had each others back. It was a very special time in our lives. Greg was the organizer of our many fire dept. ski trips to Killington, and Sunday River. The accomodations Greg secured for us were second to none! We were all happy to be together! Without Greg, we wouldn't have gone anywhere! A perfect gentleman, a true blue friend, and a true professional. God doesn't make them any better! I miss you my friend! May the angels lead you into Gods kingdom, and into eternal life. Rest in peace.

Dear Joe,Judy and Family,
I would like to offer my deepest condolences to your family on the passing of our brother Greg. We have alot of good memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. We spend over 30 years together in the fire department and outside the station playing hockey and formed the Weekend Warriors band. Summers in the beach house and on and on and on.
We went on to become full time firefighters together and working with him was truly a joy because he had the passion that we share for the job and the people he touched and helped every day he came to work. All of us that grew up at station 3 really became a family. And now part of our family has been taken from us to soon. Greg you are a true gentleman , friend ,and a brother that we will never forget. May the angles lead you into paradise and you will suffer no more. Until we meet again Greg, rest in peace.

March 4, 2012

To the family of Greg, I would like to extend my sincerest condolences on the passing of Capt. Gregory Unsworth, my Rescue partner of two years, but more importantly, my friend. Our relationship goes back many years, but it was when Greg became my partner on Rescue did our relationship flourish, on and off the job. It was through many situations I saw Greg's talents, not only as a firefighter, but doing the complicated job of Rescue work, he did it well, never hesitant, with Greg at my side there was no need to worry, the job would get done. We talked of family, things that meant so much to us, with Greg it was always his precious family, they were his life, they came first. I would love to hear his golfing stories, golf was his passion, he enjoyed it so much. Weather it was a few drinks at a restaurant, or a visit to my house, I enjoyed all my time with Greg. As Greg moved on and up in rank and injury took me from the job I would see Greg at the Knights of Columbus, and there too he gave of himself, always ready to help. He called my dad the "Governor", and I'll never forget his kind words and respect for my dad. When he was diagnosed I was crushed, why do bad things happen to good people? That is a mystery we'll never known, one that can only be comforted by our faith. Greg faught the good fight till the end. When you think of bravery and courage, I'm sure Greg will come to mind. No more fighting, no more suffering, Greg walks in the Kingdom of Heaven. He'll never really leave us, he lives on in our hearts and minds. Thanks for the great memories Greg, and to the Unsworth family I hope the void of Greg's presence will be replaced with the happy memories he has left behind. God Bless you all.
