I had the pleasure and fun of knowing Joyce through meetings for children's librarians through the Library of Virginia. What a gal! We had so many smiles and laughs together about books and children and the pure fun of our library jobs! I will miss her.

Miss Joyce quietly touched a generation with her gift of storytelling. Few people in life seek to do good without recognition. Miss Joyce embodied that sense of service. I will always remember her asking me about college. She had followed my progress from when she read to me in kindergarten to present day. Those people are the ones truly missed. I know that Heaven rejoiced with her arrival.

Joyce and I were schoolmates and friends from 1st grade all the way through school and roommate first year in college. As children, she loaned me many a Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew mystery. I know no one who loved books more than she. Although I haven't seen her in years, I hear of her testimony from all the children whose lives she touched, including my nieces. To her family, I extend my sincere sympathies and may you take comfort with the true legacy that she left behind.

My son and I came to story time a couple of times and we just loved Miss Joyce! She was such a wonderful person! She also knew I was a first time mother and tried to make me feel so comfortable in the class. We will never forget Miss Joyce! She will always be in our hearts!

I am very saddened learning of the loss of Miss Tukloff. She was one of my most favorite teachers during my schooling. I recently connected with her to let her know my daughter, Brittney had graduated from GMU with a English degree and would be staying in the DC area as Editor for contract proposal for the DOD. She was so proud. She knew Brittney well and loved her imagination. Brittney loved going to children's church and always shared what she had learned from miss Tukloff. May you find peace in the arms of family and friends and know even in sorrow there is joy. The joy of knowing how one has touched so many lives. Blessings and comfort, may they be yours.

The Franklin County libary will never be the same without "Miss Joyce" she will be missed. Everytime I saw Joyce she would ask me about my son Shad and his family. How could she remember all these kids??? But she always did. She was an amazing lady that I had a lot of respect for. She had a gift with children...and adults! Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed.

To Joyce's family: Joyce and I were childhood buddies and she shared many a Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew mystery book with me when we were growing up. We went all the way thru high school together and were roommates the first year in college. I know no one loved books than Joyce and her testimony of that love and her love for Christ always showed. May God comfort you in the many fond memories you have of her.

Joyce was and is a fond memory for children of the last ~40 years. I feel sad for all the kids who will be unable to get to know her. This is as big a loss for Franklin County as anything in years.

To the family of Ms.Joyce,
Ms.Joyce was an inspiration to so many and was a part of my family's lives for the past 6 yrs and me and my girls dearly loved her. She will be missed so much by us and we will NEVER forget her, nor will I ever forget how she touched my girls lives (and mine). She truely was an angel in disguise and now I know she is a true angel up in heaven with our Lord. She was the heart and soul of the library upstairs and it will NEVER be the same without her.
