She was trained as a typist/stenographer; and, worked as the executive secretary to the owner of Fry's Food Stores, Phoenix, Arizona. During her marriage to Reverend Buelow, she performed the duties of a Pastor's wife with great enthusiasm and joy.

A lover of music her entire life, Esther played the piano and organ and sang alto in her church choirs in Milwaukee, Phoenix, Sacramento, Rialto, and Seal Beach; and regularly attended Sacramento Symphony performances. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially in Graeagle, California.

Auntie Essie, I'll miss you more than anyone can know. I have many wonderful memories, especially my visit to Sacramento when I was young. You always made liver and onions, which I still don't like, but we ate it anyway. I always loved visiting you just down the street in Phoenix or in Rialto or Sacramento. I'll see you again someday and we'll laugh again. Love you always, Kim
