Mr.lacara was a great principle he alwys told us to do'' THE RIGHT THING'' .He was a great person nd he alwys told us to do our best nd not to participate in any bullyieng. I really respected him he was like a 2nd father to me he would always make my day when i was down. Nd ive never met any person as sweet as him nd i dont think anybody besides him can retake the piece of my heart that he rightfully gained nd no one as good as him will ever take his spot as "THE BEST MAN IN THE WORLD".

Mr. Lacara was a great PE teacher and Basketball coach during my middle school years at Markham. He was so supportive and encouraging. I specifically remember him helping me out when I was being bullied. His warm rapport and humor made middle school a much more pleasant experience.

To be in his position, as head of the school- he will walk thru the gate os heaven to be with all the GREAT ONES UP there. I have never met this man or his family.to know he served as a mentor to his students, a father to his girls and a husband to his wife.... we know from not meeting him that he was a GREAT man and will be watching over all of you in your time of grief. Be happy, he is with loved ones that have already passed and will be with you when the time comes. Much much later. Everyone says it gets easier, it just gets less painful. Days turn to weeks to months then years and eventually you will all rejoice in the house of the lord. Blessings and prayers be with you all forever.

To the Lacara family. All three of my children have some story to tell about Mr. Lacara. Valerie 32 had him as a P.E. teacher we think this might have been his first class at markham. Daniel 27 remembers the wonderful times at markham with Mr. Lacara as V.P. And our youngest Kristle 21 says she was not his pet but he was her pet. So your loving husband and father left a lasting empack on all three of my children he will be deeply missed. God bless you and all your family.

When a tragedy like this occurs, all we can do is ask Why? Why was such a upstanding, loving, caring man taken away from us. The only answer i have is God needed him more than we did. I truly believe Jesus is coming back soon and he needs a true, loving, dedicated army and he is taking the best of the best!
I am so sorry for your loss. My girlfriends grandchildren attend your school and spoke very highly of Sam. Take care of each other, remember he is only a whisper away...

Sam has touched the lives of every single one of his students, parents, co- workers, friends, familys, loved ones and even stangers with such small things as opening the car doors for the students in the mornings, sayi g good morning to every parent and student he came into contact with every day. He never hurried through his day, and always made time to talk to a child or ask a question from a parent. Sam was truley one of a kind and forever will be missed deeply, but forever be loved, remembered, talked about and shine over our children, his family and this community. He is not replaceable, and that is the truth. My heart, thoughts and prayers as well as my childrens and familys is with Sams family. We turely have all come together in this very tragic time. may we always remember that sams memorie shall be charished and his life to be rejoyiced. I pray for everyone touched, and hurt, and saddened, by our lose as a community and family.

Sam was a kind, gentle, and generous man. Every definition of goodness. My mother lived next door to the Lacara’s for many years and Sam (and the Lacara family) was very generous with his time helping my mother with countless tasks around her house. Through his goodness he touched the lives of our family, as I am sure he did for others. That such good people could be affected by such evil is beyond my capacity to understand. Sam is surely among the saints at this moment and though there are no words or deeds that can ever fill the vacuum created by this tragedy, the Lacara family will be in the prayers of my family every day forevermore.

Sam and I were friends during college. We had many of the same classes and eventually went through the teacher-training program together at CSUS.

A few years ago, my wife and I bumped into Sam at a track meet. My son was in seventh grade at the time, while Sam’s daughter, an eighth grader, competed for another school. We talked for a while and laughed about some of our (skinny) college days. Sam told me about his three daughters and how proud he was of them. I was also surprised he knew my stepdaughter, as she was a new teacher at a different school in Placerville at the time.

It has been a very difficult last few days of teaching for me. The memories of Sam during our college days and the thoughts of his family are with me now. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

There are no words that can be spoken to ease the pain Mr. LaCara's Family, Friends, Students, Staff Members & the community are feeling and I would not even try. He made a lasting impression on so many young minds that will stay with them forever. Mr. LaCara will remain in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of meeting him. When our community lost him we lost a great hero. All of our children have a guardian Angel to watch over them and continue guiding them on the right pathway to success in their lives. He will be missed but never forgotten.

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you've passed, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
Deepest sympathy... May you pass into the light and know that your kindness and role you played in the children's lives will always be cherished. May God keep you safe now in his hands~~~

For several years I would run into Sam very early in the morning at the local Starbucks in our area. We would always visit as we waited in line for our coffee. He was always very friendly, very engaging and I enjoyed our brief conversations which often continued as we walked to our cars. I hadn't been to that Starbucks for awhile and I missed those visits with Sam. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his tragic, senseless death. This world can't afford to lose people like Sam Lacara. I wish I had known him better. My heartfelt condolences go out to Sam's wife and children.
