It has been 9 years, but there are still days I remember George either from music, I saw Pepe Romero with him and hear his music on the classical station, or a restaurant that has closed in San Diego, we always went out to eat when I visited or a word or phrase he used "the fact of the matter is". Fullor energy, full of life, full of memories!

I had the pleasure to enjoy Mr.
G. Flanders endless life time stories during the two years I took care of his wife Maria from 1094 to 1096 when she passed away and even after we continued to be very good friends, go on long and short walks, go to the movies, go out
To eat. He was the greatest human being I have ever met I
Will miss him very much. It makes me feel happy that he finally reunited with his beloved
Wife Maria I miss them and will forever remember them both.

I will miss Uncle George. I got to know him really well in the years, I have been going to Novato and also San Diego. We had some fun times, great talks, great dinners, great music, great adventures and lots of laughs. He introduced me to everyone. Uncle George was such a kind hearted man, he helped everyone and he was loved by everyone. Although he and my dad were years apart in age they were like twins in many ways. My father and mother loved visiting George and Marie and always talked about their visits to the coast. With Christine there it enabled my parents to go and visit George as well. When George, at the age of 87 came to visit my dad when he was dying, it was so wonderful. To see them talking and laughing together, made my dad's last days. And then he came back 3 months later to attend my niece's wedding in honor of my dad, I am sure. What a guy! Thank you George for everything. I will miss you a lot.

It was always a treat to visit Uncle George. From the first time I remember meeting him when I was in my twenties, I enjoyed his stories and the fact that he reminded me so much of my father, his brother Al. So happy I could visit again in the last two years to see him busy as ever and totally enjoying his 100th birthday party. I will miss emailing my dear uncle. Love,Anne

I had the honor of knowing George for the last 16 years, formerly working at the chiropractic office that kept his spine aligned. He was absolutely the most loving, kind, gentle man, I so enjoyed his hugs, the stories and the yarns he'd tell, always filled with laughter. I used to tell my friends that I truly believed his laughter, optimism, and great zest for life kept him young. The world has lost a very special man, may you rest in peace George and be dancing in heaven,

I only had the pleasure of meeting Uncle George a few times but those few provided some great memories. One particular memory for me was at my wedding in May 1998. My grandpa (George's brother Al) had passed away in Feb 1998 and George was kind enough to not only travel across the country to attend my wedding but also danced with me as a tribute to Grandpa. It was a very touching moment for me, my Grandma and my entire family. I will always remember it and am thankful George was such a great brother to Grandpa.

For George's immediate family - I am sure he has left many amazing memories behind in is 100+ years - hopefully those memories will lead you through this challenging time.

I will miss you as a wonderful neighbor, always frendly, kind and thoughtful. I enjoyed listening to the stories of your Navy days. Thanks for sharing them with me. If I have been good, I look forward meeting with you again on the other side. Your neighbor down the street,

Dear Uncle George,
I am so grateful to be your niece. You will always hold a special place in my heart. When I arrived in San Diego as a young woman you & Aunt Marie opened up your home and, more importantly, your hearts to me. It was always such a pleasure to be with you. Your integrity, honesty, humor, candor, Flanders energy, spirituality and strength have always emanated from your very core. I am going to miss you very much but I celebrate the amazing life you led & trust you will look over all of us who are still on this earth.
