Arthur L. "Larry" Abrams

Arthur L. (Larry) Abrams of Palm Beach, Fla., died on Dec. 23, 2010 at the age of 94. He graduated from Rutgers Phi Beta Kappa in 1937 and from Harvard Law School in 1940. He spent five years as a navigator and captain in the Army Air Force and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross. After the war, Mr. Abrams practiced law in Newark, N.J., for 38 years. He was instrumental in creating the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, helped envision and laid the legal foundation for the building of Port Jersey in Jersey City, and represented New Jersey on the U.S. Uniform Laws Commission. He and his wife, Rena Ellenbogen Abrams, retired to Palm Beach, Fla., in 1984. They were married for 68 years, and his last words to her were, "I love you." He leaves her; three children (Peter Abrams, Nancy Abrams, and Judith Hollier) and three grandchildren (Ross Abrams, Samara Bay, and Emma Hollier).
