Sorry to hear of your loss. I met Mr. Caron in the late 1960's when some of my teammates and I at Boston University used to go to Providence to see the Montreal Voyageurs.
A few years later two of my teammates were Canadian draft picks. I was manager of the team but the manager held a different connotation than it did in Canada. One afternoon as "Team Manager" I got a call in my dorm room from Ron inquiring about the progress of our guys. We had a good laugh and later that year (1972) he arranged for a game between our team and a Jr. All Star team in Montreal. It was the only time I visited the hallowed forum.
Rest in Peace Mr. Caron and may fond memories and faith sustain your family in the days and months to follow.

So sorry for your loss. But know that you are not alone in this hard time, for the Bible in 1Peter 5:6,7 assures us that God cares about our suffering and he'll give us the support we need to cope. Take care.

I met Ron in the 1980's when he and Jack Quinn supported our idea to keep the Blues in St. Louis (Brentwood Ice Arena) for preseason training camp. He could see the benefit of the daily intimate exposure to their fans. It was standing room only! Not to mention the cost savings to a financially struggling franchise. He was a true visionary who energized hockey in St. Louis. Youth hockey grew exponentially due in large part to his energy and efforts. There's meat on the burner in Heaven!

The most impactful, passionate man I have ever been around. I did not know Mr. Caron, but he always said hello when you passed him and brought a smile to your face. I attended practices occasionally and was a Blues season ticket holder, and I saw the countless times he talked with fans while wearing his long coat. He made you feel better about the Blues and better about yourself, and that is an amazing accomplishment for any man to be able to positively impact that many people. And when you were at a game, and either extremely happy due to a play by the Blues or extremely upset.....al you had to do for confirmation was look to the press box and see that Ron was reacting the same way. God bless you, Mr. Caron.
RIP uncle Ron xx

I will always be thankful for having known Mr. Caron. I speak for my husband Frank who is talking to Mr. Caron in heaven, asking questions and talking hockey. It might take him over an hour to answer one question. Frank always had a great time when he came to the barber shop and would discuss the Blues. His one fault was that he was a Yankees fan. I remember his kindness when I had surgery and sent me the most beautiful bouquet. After he left the Blues Frank and I kept in contact with him by phone and written corespondence. All the Blueliners loved when he came to our meeting. The Blues and hockey is so much better because of his love and devotion. It's kind of ironic that the Blues are playing in Montreal tonight where he also contibuted to their team. Blessings and prayer to all who loved and knew the professor.

I am a Blues DIE-HARD fan and have been since 1970 and have seen it all. But none of the Gm's had the passion for the Blues more than "The Professor" I think the Brett Hull trade was his best ever and with the help of Brian Sutter made him the First TRUE Blues Superstar. And I know he will be looking down watching when we have that Parade down Market and he will be shedding a tear along with the rest of us in St.Louis. RIP Mr.Caron

I'm not a diehard hockey fan but when "the meat was on the burner" there was nothing more exciting in St Louis sports. Thanks for reviving a sport that was dying. My sympathy to your family.

I will always remember the time I spent over the years with Mr. C from the time I was a high school freshman to becoming a grown, family man, a very wide swath of development time to becoming the person I am today. He probably never knew the positive impact he had on those he came in contact with frequently, but I know for sure I am better human being for having known him. He was engaging to talk with and inspired those around him to be passionate about the things that meant the most, among them the dedication to set and reach goals. He left a lasting impression on thousands of people, one that we are better off for due to that relationship. Oh, and then there's the whole hockey and baseball thing that he and I both enjoyed and lived. Still, I will remember him as the person, not the General Manager (although the GM thing was quite fulfilling to witness). Mr. C, thanks for how you made the world better one person at a time. I hope there is a press box in heaven for you to watch the game you love.
